About the Oklahoma City Minecraft World
Oklahoma City's downtown has been remade since the 1990s and it shows in the generated world: the 259 m Devon Tower stands over a core of mid-rise offices, Bricktown's converted warehouses and its 1999 canal sit just across the railway to the east, the Myriad Botanical Gardens' glass cylinder and the new Scissortail Park open the south side toward the Oklahoma River, and the National Memorial's reflecting pool and 168 empty chairs occupy the block where the Murrah Building stood on the north edge. The Capitol — the only one in the country with working oil wells on its grounds, its dome finished only in 2002 — sits 3 km northeast, and the Paseo's 1929 Spanish Revival arts district is a little further north. The ground is nearly level; the grid is wide and generous.
What's Included in the Oklahoma City World
Bricktown
The warehouse district east of the railway tracks, with the Bricktown Canal threading between the buildings and the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark at its heart. Brick, water and low roofs next to the towers.
Oklahoma City National Memorial
The reflecting pool between the Gates of Time (9:01 and 9:03), the Field of Empty Chairs and the Survivor Tree on its rise, on the north edge of downtown. The pool and the chairs read clearly from above.
Oklahoma State Capitol
The domed Capitol 3 km northeast of downtown, with the oil derricks on its grounds and the museum complex to the south.
Paseo Arts District
A curving street of 1929 Spanish Revival buildings with galleries and cafés, 4 km north of downtown, in the middle of the Paseo neighbourhood's bungalows.
