About the San Antonio Minecraft World

San Antonio's centre is built around a river one storey below the street. The River Walk follows the San Antonio River's horseshoe bend through downtown at basement level, lined with restaurants and crossed by dozens of small bridges, while the Alamo sits in its plaza a block away at street grade and the 229 m Tower of the Americas rises from the 1968 World's Fair grounds to the southeast. North of downtown the river runs past the Pearl, a brewery complex turned district; south it strings together the four Spanish missions — San José, the "Queen of the Missions", among them — that make up a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The street grid is small and irregular downtown and settles into a regular pattern outside the loop.

What's Included in the San Antonio World

The Alamo

The 1744 mission chapel and its walled compound on Alamo Plaza, in the middle of downtown. A small footprint, but the plaza around it and the Menger and Crockett hotels frame it clearly.

River Walk

The sunken riverside promenade through downtown, from the Pearl in the north to the King William district in the south. With terrain on, the river channel generates below street level, so the walkways really do sit beneath the city.

Pearl District

The 1883 Pearl Brewery and its grounds 2.5 km north, converted into a market, hotel and restaurant quarter around the brewhouse's tower, with the river's Museum Reach running past.

Mission San José

The largest of the missions, 7 km south along the river: the 1768 church, the walled compound with its Indian quarters, the granary and the mill. A complete walled mission generates as a genuine enclosed site.

Plus all streets, buildings, parks, and terrain elevation from OpenStreetMap data — faithfully converted to Minecraft blocks. Available for both Java and Bedrock Edition.

No mods required. The world works with vanilla Minecraft, both Java and Bedrock Edition.
