Arnis online (unofficial), with nothing to install
Map2Minecraft runs the free, open-source Arnis engine on our servers. Pick a real place on a map in any browser — phone, tablet, Chromebook or PC — and get a playable Minecraft world for Java or Bedrock, with a free preview of the actual result before you pay.
We're not the Arnis project.
Arnis is created by Louis Erbkamm and released free under the Apache 2.0 license. Its only official sites are github.com/louis-e/arnis and arnismc.com, and its official online version is MapSmith. Map2Minecraft is an independent service built on that open-source engine — not affiliated with or endorsed by the Arnis project.
What Arnis is
Arnis is a free, open-source program by Louis Erbkamm that turns OpenStreetMap data and real elevation into Minecraft worlds — Java Edition (1.17+), Bedrock Edition and Luanti. You download it from its GitHub releases, run it on Windows, macOS or Linux, draw a rectangle on its map, and it builds the world on your own computer.
Because it's open source, other services can build on it — that's what we do. If you want the official online version from the same creator, that's MapSmith on arnismc.com. The Arnis team's own guide to the official downloads lists which sites are theirs.
What Map2Minecraft adds on top
The world-building engine is Arnis. The service around it is ours.
Nothing to install
Generation runs on our servers, so it works from any browser — phones, tablets, Chromebooks and PCs, including ones where you can't install software.
A free preview of your actual world
Before you pay anything, you see the world that was really generated: a side-by-side slider of the real map against your Minecraft world, plus a 3D flyover and, on desktop, a street-level walk-around.
Instant download
Most worlds are ready in 1–5 minutes and download the moment you pay, up to 25 km².
Java and Bedrock, straight to your phone
Choose a Java world (.zip) or a Bedrock world (.mcworld). On a phone or tablet you can generate a Bedrock world and open it on the same device, with no computer in between.
Places already scouted
100 city pages with a suggested area for each, from New York to Tokyo, plus guides for small towns, classrooms and servers.
Pay only for what you keep
Generating and previewing are free. Downloading is a one-time price per world, shown before you pay.

This is what the preview looks like: the real map on one side, the world that was generated on the other. Drag to compare. You get the same view of your own place, free.
