Can I download a real city as a Minecraft map?
Yes. Pick any city, town or neighborhood on the map and Map2Minecraft builds it block-for-block from OpenStreetMap data — real streets, real buildings, real terrain. One-time worlds go up to 25 km²; Pro takes them up to 100 km². It works for Java Edition (a world folder) and Bedrock Edition (a .mcworld file).
Is Map2Minecraft free?
Generating any area and exploring it in a 3D preview is free, with no signup. Downloading the finished world is a one-time $5 (under 1 km²), $10 (1–5 km²) or $20 (5–25 km²). Bigger than 25 km², or making several? Pro ($39/month or $299/year) gives you worlds up to 100 km² and unlimited generations.
How do I turn a real-world location into a Minecraft world?
Search the place on the map, frame the area you want, choose Java or Bedrock, and click generate. Your world is ready in about 1–5 minutes. Download it, then drop the folder into your saves directory (Java) or open the .mcworld file (Bedrock). No mods required.
What file format do I get?
Java Edition users get a standard world folder (zip). Bedrock Edition users get a .mcworld file. You choose which format when generating.
Do I need any mods?
No. The generated world works with vanilla Minecraft — no mods, no plugins, no extra downloads.
How long does generation take?
Typically 1–5 minutes depending on the area size. You can watch the progress in real-time.
What data is used to build the world?
We use OpenStreetMap, a free and open-source map database maintained by a global community. Building footprints, heights, roads, parks, and terrain elevation are all included.
Can I use the world on a Minecraft server?
Yes. Just upload the world folder to your server's worlds directory. It works with vanilla servers and most server software like Paper and Spigot.
