About the Kansas City Minecraft World

Kansas City's downtown sits on a bluff above the Missouri River, and the city steps down and away from it in a chain of distinct districts along Main Street: the River Market and its City Market sheds at the top by the river, the Loop's towers and the Power & Light District's entertainment blocks with the T-Mobile Center arena, the Kauffman Center's twin steel shells, the Crossroads' brick arts district, then Union Station's 1914 Beaux-Arts hall facing the Liberty Memorial's 66 m tower on its hill — the best overlook in the city — and, 6 km south along Brush Creek, the Country Club Plaza's 1920s Spanish towers and fountains. The Chiefs' and Royals' stadiums stand side by side 10 km east at the Truman Sports Complex. The state line with Kansas runs down a street 4 km west of downtown.

What's Included in the Kansas City World

Country Club Plaza

America's first suburban shopping district (1923), 6.5 km south: Spanish Revival blocks, the Giralda tower copy, fountains on every corner and Brush Creek running through the middle, with the Nelson-Atkins Museum's lawn just east.

Union Station

The 1914 station's great hall and train shed at the south end of downtown, facing the Liberty Memorial's tower and the National WWI Museum across Pershing Road — with Crown Center's complex to the east.

Power & Light District

Nine blocks of restaurants and bars around the KC Live! block in the middle of downtown, with the T-Mobile Center arena, the Kauffman Center and the convention centre around it.

Arrowhead Stadium

The Chiefs' stadium and the Royals' Kauffman Stadium side by side at the Truman Sports Complex, 10 km east — two stadium ovals and their parking lots make a landmark the size of a neighbourhood.

Plus all streets, buildings, parks, and terrain elevation from OpenStreetMap data — faithfully converted to Minecraft blocks. Available for both Java and Bedrock Edition.

Recommended Selection for Kansas City

The opening Large frame on downtown reaches from the River Market at the top of the bluff down through the Loop, Power & Light and the Crossroads to Union Station and the Liberty Memorial's hill. Move it to the Plaza pick for the Spanish towers, Brush Creek and the Nelson-Atkins, or to the Arrowhead pick for both stadiums.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's included in the Kansas City Minecraft world?
The Kansas City world includes all buildings, roads, parks, and terrain elevation from OpenStreetMap data. Key landmarks like Country Club Plaza, Union Station, Power & Light District are faithfully recreated block by block.
How do I import the world into Minecraft?
For Java Edition, extract the zip and copy the world folder to your .minecraft/saves/ directory. For Bedrock Edition, double-click the .mcworld file to import automatically.
Do I need any mods to play?
No mods required. The world works with vanilla Minecraft, both Java and Bedrock Edition.
Does the Liberty Memorial's hill show up?
Yes, with terrain on: the memorial stands about 30 m above Union Station across the road, and that rise comes through from the elevation data, so the tower sits on a real hill with the downtown skyline laid out below it, exactly as in the photos.
