About the Phoenix Minecraft World

Phoenix is a desert grid with mountains in it. The Valley is laid out on mile-square arterial roads that run dead straight for tens of kilometres, the blocks between them low and wide, and then real mountains erupt from the middle of the city: Camelback rises 400 m above the surrounding streets, Papago Park's red sandstone buttes sit between Phoenix and Tempe, and South Mountain closes the valley to the south. Downtown is a small, growing cluster of towers around Chase Field and the arena, with the Capitol's copper dome a couple of kilometres west along Washington Street and the light rail running through the middle on Central Avenue.

What's Included in the Phoenix World

Chase Field

The Diamondbacks' ballpark with its retractable roof, on the southeast corner of downtown next to the Footprint Center arena. The roof's box shape makes it one of the largest single structures in the world.

Arizona State Capitol

The 1900 Capitol with its copper dome, 2 km west of downtown at the end of Washington Street's government mall, flanked by the legislative wings and the Wesley Bolin plaza memorials.

Papago Park

Red sandstone buttes with Hole-in-the-Rock on top, the Desert Botanical Garden and the Phoenix Zoo, 12 km east toward Tempe. With terrain on the buttes rise 100 m straight out of the flats.

Camelback Mountain

An 824 m mountain shaped like a kneeling camel, 13 km northeast of downtown, surrounded by the Arcadia and Biltmore neighbourhoods. Its slopes are the biggest terrain in any Phoenix world.

Plus all streets, buildings, parks, and terrain elevation from OpenStreetMap data — faithfully converted to Minecraft blocks. Available for both Java and Bedrock Edition.

Recommended Selection for Phoenix

The opening Large frame on downtown covers the tower cluster, both stadiums, Roosevelt Row and the Capitol mall's eastern end. Move it to the Capitol pick for the full government campus and the state fairgrounds, or to the Papago Park pick for the buttes, the zoo and the botanical garden — the pick with the most terrain.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's included in the Phoenix Minecraft world?
The Phoenix world includes all buildings, roads, parks, and terrain elevation from OpenStreetMap data. Key landmarks like Chase Field, Arizona State Capitol, Papago Park are faithfully recreated block by block.
How do I import the world into Minecraft?
For Java Edition, extract the zip and copy the world folder to your .minecraft/saves/ directory. For Bedrock Edition, double-click the .mcworld file to import automatically.
Do I need any mods to play?
No mods required. The world works with vanilla Minecraft, both Java and Bedrock Edition.
Will the mountains show up?
Yes, with terrain on. Elevation comes from real terrain data, so Camelback, Piestewa Peak and the Papago buttes stand at their true height above the valley floor — the only place in the Phoenix grid where the ground does anything.
