About the Tel Aviv Minecraft World

Tel Aviv is two cities in one selection, and the seam between them is what makes it interesting to generate. North of the boundary is the White City — the largest concentration of Bauhaus architecture anywhere, thousands of low, flat-roofed, curved-balcony buildings laid out on a planned grid in the 1930s, which in Minecraft comes out as a remarkably even and orderly fabric. South is Old Jaffa: a hill of dense, irregular stone lanes thousands of years older, with almost no straight lines in it. Between them runs the Mediterranean, so whatever you select, the western edge of your world is open sea and beach.

What's Included in the Tel Aviv World

Rothschild Boulevard

A wide tree-lined median running through the heart of the White City, with Bauhaus blocks either side. The boulevard's central green strip generates clearly as a long park corridor through dense building.

Old Jaffa

The ancient port on its hill at the southern end. Narrow winding lanes and tight stone blocks — the sharpest possible contrast to the planned grid just north of it.

Tel Aviv Beachfront

Kilometres of continuous beach and promenade along the Mediterranean, giving the world a real coastline and a clean water edge the full length of its west side.

Carmel Market

A dense warren of narrow market streets just inland — one of the tightest street patterns in the selection.

Plus all streets, buildings, parks, and terrain elevation from OpenStreetMap data — faithfully converted to Minecraft blocks. Available for both Java and Bedrock Edition.

What Makes Tel Aviv Special in Minecraft

  • Include the coast. The Mediterranean edge gives you open water on one side of the world, which makes the whole build feel less boxed-in than an inland city.
  • The Bauhaus grid and Jaffa's medieval lanes in one selection is the real draw — the transition between them is visible from the air.
  • Buildings are consistently low, so this is a horizontal, walkable world rather than a skyline one.
  • The port and marina structures generate over water, giving you piers and breakwaters to explore.

Recommended Selection for Tel Aviv

A 2-3 km² selection running from Rothschild Boulevard down to Old Jaffa along the coast captures both cities and the full beachfront — a Medium tier world and the selection that shows off what makes Tel Aviv distinctive. Go to 5-6 km² to take in more of the northern White City grid and the port.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's included in the Tel Aviv Minecraft world?
The Tel Aviv world includes all buildings, roads, parks, and terrain elevation from OpenStreetMap data. Key landmarks like Rothschild Boulevard, Old Jaffa, Tel Aviv Beachfront are faithfully recreated block by block.
How do I import the world into Minecraft?
For Java Edition, extract the zip and copy the world folder to your .minecraft/saves/ directory. For Bedrock Edition, double-click the .mcworld file to import automatically.
Do I need any mods to play?
No mods required. The world works with vanilla Minecraft, both Java and Bedrock Edition.
Does the Mediterranean generate as real water?
Yes. The coastline comes from OpenStreetMap, so the sea fills the western edge of the world properly, with the beach and promenade running along it. You can sail out from the shore.
What makes the Bauhaus buildings recognisable in Minecraft?
Not the detail — curved balconies and ribbon windows are below block resolution. It's the uniformity: thousands of buildings at nearly the same low height on a planned grid produce a distinctly even, orderly texture you don't get in an organically grown city.
